 Module 2: Cartography

Map of Escambia County, Florida and UWF Main Campus

This week's lab presented the first time I ever created a map on ArcGIS Pro. I had some struggles (as expected) but I was able to complete the project. The majority of the map shows Escambia County, Florida with the highlighted location of UWF's main campus and two cities, Ferry Pass and Pensacola. Included in the top right corner is an inset view of Florida with all 67 counties outlined in gray, including Escambia County, which is red. I chose to put some of the map essentials at the bottom of the map because it was the clearest, most open spot where the reader can clearly find the information they are looking for. As for colors, I chose them because I wanted something that was easy to identify, yet not overpowering. I am excited to see how my maps look now versus what they look like as I add more to my blog.
